Education as a Means of Rehabilitation: Special Educational Needs of Children with Profound Developmental DisabilitiesThe article concretizes the notion of special educational needs of children with disabilities. An emphasis is made on the necessity of the timely identification of developmental disorders and the beginning of their correction, overcoming of “social displacement” by a child with disabilities.
In the article the crisis is comprehended, which has concerned the modern condition of the state system of special education and special pedagogy as a science. The necessity of consecutive and planned transformation of the system of special education on different levels is admitted, besides that the evolutionary line of its development is upheld. The author cautions against rash destruction of the formed system.
