Special support of forming an idea of the world in children with disabilities by means of the computer technology: “Time Tape”

The publication covers the development of life competence of children with disabilities in connection with Special Federal State Educational Standards worked out by Institute of Special Education. Development of the worldview in the child with disabilities is primarily associated with the realization of Special Federal State Educational Standard section “Natural science and practice of interaction with the surrounding world.”

The article describes the use of the specialized computer software “Time Tape”, developed at the Institute of Special Education, RAE. The software allows to identify the experience accumulated by the child and evaluate its meaningfulness.

The report covers the investigation of senior preschool children group with normal development, cognitive development delay and hearing impairment using the “Time Tape” methods. The author analyzes the identified variants of notions development about the world in children. It is shown that “Time Tape” software is a convenient and informative tool for the diagnostics of those variants of forming ideas about the world that require correction.

The research, which is reported in the article, covers the analysis of notions about the surrounding world in normally developing senior preschool children, who are brought up and educated in different conditions. With the use of “Time Tape” methods there are compared the ideas of pupils of a traditional group of a pre-school educational institution, where only normally developing children are educated, with the similar ideas in mixed groups of a pre-school educational institution, where, along with normally developing children, children with hearing impairment are brought up and educated with or without a teacher of the deaf.
