Methodological Recommendations to Psycho-pedagogical Examination of Children (2-3 year old): Early Diagnosing of Mental Development.

In the article there is described at length a psycho-pedagogical examination of early age children: the goals, methods of carrying out, quantitative and qualitative assessment. The diagnostics data are analysed, there are defined the main areas of special correctional support of children depending on the scored points in the course of examination.

Pedagogical methods for examining hearing of 2 - 3 years old children are described. It is shown that choice of the method depends on speech development level of the child. It is suggested to examine hearing of the child, who understands speech, through performing simple tasks by him/her which are said from distance of 6 m. For children, who do not understand speech, the methods based on registration of unconditioned orientation responses to a sound and on development of unconditioned motor response to a sound are suggested.

The article describes general approaches to carrying out logopedic examination of 2 - 3 years old children. The suggested method is based on systematic speech development scheme developed by N.S. Zhukova based on A.N.Gvozdeva's works and K.L. Pechora's and G.V.Paniuhina's materials on diagnostics of neuro-psychical development of 2 - 3 years old children.

Methods of Pedagogical Examination of Hearing in Children with Hearing Loss of the First Year of Life

The article describes pedagogical methods for hearing examining of children of the first year of life suspected of having hearing impairment, the methods are based on registration of unconditioned orientation responses. As sound stimuli there are suggested high-, medium- and low-frequency sounding toys, voice of conversational and intensive loudness, whispering and modulate audiometer signal as well. The suggested methods allow detecting 4 levels of hearing loss: hearing within the age norm, hearing impairment, profound hearing impairment, deafness.

The article introduces an experimental research of psychological aspects of adaptation of early age children to social upbringing forms (children with normal development and with psychological disturbance as well). There are described in detail three series of experimental situations worked out by the author and a system of mark assessment of an early age child behavior during the adaptation period to the day nursery institution.
