The current Almanac issue is devoted to the questions of psychо-peadogical support of relatives of children with disabilities to master communication ways responding to their special needs. It’s obviously, that such support is important for early age children, while creation of conditions for developmental interaction is especially meaningful for the developmental prognosis. First of all, such conditions creation is related to difficulties overcoming in formation of the first child’s leading activity – his direct emotional communication with an adult. As a technique of detection and overcoming of the specific difficulties of child-relative communication development there is proposed the method which was worked out and approved in the cycle of authors researches presented in this issue. The method includes the expert analysis of video materials, which fix situations of natural and specially organized mother-child interaction.

The opportunities for using video surveillance methods in solving problems of research and applications of the early childhood support

The article presents the opportunities for using video surveillance methods on the basis of analytical survey research during the empirical research and assessment of mother - early age child interaction, in the practice of psychodiagnostic, psychotherapeutic and pedagogical work with the families of early age children including children with special needs.

An investigation of communication between an adult and an early age child with special needs: methodical tools

The article presents methods of study of a child’s communication with adults. There are included experimentally approved procedures of collection and data processing of video materials with interactions, qualification grid of analysis of communicative behaviour of adults and early age children including infantile age, the parameters system of assessment of spatio-temporal, process and content characteristics of communication.

Variants of communication development in early age children with disabilities

The article presents variants that reflect different content, degree and quality of difficulties in the communication development among early age children with disabilities and adults. There are given results concerning the frequency of defined variants of communicative behavior of infants and early age children with severe visual disorders, Down syndrome and organic CNS damage.

Analysis of communication initiatives of a mother of a toddler with organic damage of the central nervous system

The features of mothers behavior with early age children with organic CNS damage in the specially created communication situations are described and illustrated in the article. The paper substantiates the supposition that the main mechanism of communication difficulties development in this category of children appears to be the incorrespondence of mother’s communication behaviour to child’s abilities and needs.

The features of communication behavior of toddlers with Down syndrome, difficulties of its interpretation for adults

The article describes the features of communication behavior of early age children with Down syndrome which complicate their interaction with adults. It is shown that communication refusal, specific contradictory communication actions of the child appear to be warning signs in the child’s communication development related to the lack of communication behavior of the adult.

The article is devoted to analysis of interaction between mentors and children with severe multiple disabilities while doing three time activities. There are described some phenomena of interaction, which promote and delay psychical development of the child. There are described the difficulties, which the adult faces to while interacting with this category of children.

Special communication skills formation in mothers of blind infants on the basis of analysis of video materials

The article considers the use of methods of joint analysis of video materials with adult-child interaction in the context of communication skills formation in mothers, who bring up premature blind infants. On the basis of P.Ya. Galperin’s concept concerning orienting base of activity the emphasis in teaching adults is placed on mastering of criteria system, which appears to be the base for planning, assessment and personal behavior change while interacting with a child.
