Interdisciplinary interaction between specialists during the process of children's rehabilitation

The article is based on the materials of the speech that has been given by the Moscow chief child rehabilitation specialist during the round table "Modern science achievements in comprehensive rehabilitation of children with special needs and children with disabilities", organized by the Russian Academy of Education. The article focuses on a multi-stage and interdisciplinary approach to the rehabilitation of children with acute and chronic diseases. Emphasis is placed on methods and means of rehabilitation that could facilitate possible recovery of functions, or adaptation of a child to the existing deficit.

Psychological and pedagogical technologies in the comprehensive rehabilitation of children with disabilities

The article describes the main directions of psychological and pedagogical support in the system of comprehensive rehabilitation of children with special needs, the purpose of psychological and pedagogical work and the factors that must be considered when determining its content. The priority directions of psychological and pedagogical work in a medical hospital are also listed (early intervention, intensive care unit, surgical, somatic and neurological units, work with parents, forms of interdisciplinary interaction). The article also formulates proposals for assessment of the effectiveness of the psychological and pedagogical aspects in the system of comprehensive rehabilitation, and specifies the prospects for future development.

Pedagogical rehabilitation in the system of comprehensive rehabilitation of children with special needs and disabilities: conceptual aspects

The paper focuses on rehabilitation of people with disabilities and puts forward its comprehensive structural model. The model is based on the view that rehabilitation of people with disabilities is a form of social policy. The model has three dimensions – i.e., morphological (types and forms), dynamic (stages and levels), and instrumental (technology). The paper proceeds to define how pedagogical rehabilitation fits in with the comprehensive rehabilitation of children with disabilities. The paper also reveals the essential features of pedagogical rehabilitation as a special form of educational activity that aims to develop social competences in children with disabilities and ensures their efficient and effective performance in modern society. The paper sets out the key principles of pedagogical rehabilitation of children with disabilities as part of comprehensive rehabilitation programmes.

Psychological support tasks for the family with an ill child

The purpose of this article is to define the tasks and main directions of psychological support for families with children with special needs and disabilities. A child's illness is considered as an abnormal family crisis, which causes the transformation of the entire family system. Psychological features of the family with an ill child are highlighted: changes in the functional and role structure of the family; the formation of new family boundaries, taking into account long-term stress; violation of emotional interaction and emotional status of the family; distortion of the family’s self-consciousness and deformation of its history, which give rise to family myths; experiencing the loss of control over daily life; uncertainty of life prospects, risks of personal identity loss. The definitions of the main directions and psychological support tasks for the family are determined and based on the following principles: integrity of the family system, identification of the family with a child with special needs and disabilities, specification of the target groups that need early intervention in education, teaching about psychological age and resource models of counseling
